I have concluded that the only worthwhile thing for them is to take pleasure in doing good in life – Ecclesiastes 3:12

Truly, I believe the greatest purpose of humanity is to create a legacy. Only so much can be accomplished in life and, ultimately, one will return to dust and be loss in the ages. The only way one can be spared from such a fate is to create a legacy to be passed down from generation to generation, to be the difference and to stand for Truth in spite of the consequences. God refers to himself as “The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” Likewise, In the book of Matthew, Matthew goes to extensive length to trace the lineage of Jesus to David, then further to Abraham. Luke goes even further tracing Jesus back to Adam himself. How can Christendom deny the importance of leaving a legacy? Even the old laws of the Jews highlight the importance of leaving an inheritance to one’s child. Leaving a legacy is everything in the kingdom because that is how the church was built. Every major cathedral was built by people knowing that they would not see the end results, but that their children, or their children’s children, would see it. Isn’t that more important? To leave a legacy to make the lives of those that come afterwards more successful than the ones before. Therefore, I urge you to strive to leave a legacy for future generations to come, to build a life that focuses on serving those that come after and fosters growth of the legacy.

A benevolent person leaves an inheritance for his grandchildren, but the wealth of a sinner is stored up for the righteous. — Proverbs 13:22
