“If you could just make a choice, I know you would find me wanting only to be close to you!”
— Reveries of Flight, Oh Sleeper
We so often cry out to God “Where are you? Why aren’t you next to me in this moment? I just want Your guidance!” We may even use the divine to conquer the divine “God, your word says that You will be a light to my footstep!” Yet, we so often reject God up until the point we are hopeless without Him. “Remain in Me.” Did we remain in Him? Did we surrender ourselves to Him? Did we ask God, “please guide me,” without asking Him to make His will, our will? We may want to be NEAR God, but God wants to live INSIDE of us. God has no desire for us to strive to be with Him. He desires for us to say, I can’t live apart from you! “Where am I to go where you are not?” Psalms 139
“If you could just make a choice [I HAVE], I know you would find me wanting [ALL OF YOU] only to be close to you!”
— Reveries of Flight, Oh Sleeper
There exists no middle ground with God. You either must accept all of Him or none of Him. The moment that you start picking and choosing the aspects of God that most resonates with your inner spirituality, you are no longer worshiping the Creator God of the Universe, who wills your very existence, but rather the created god of the “youniverse” who exists in the recesses of an idolatrous mind.
“[They] will turn their ears away from the truth and will wander off into myths and man-made fictions [and will accept the unacceptable].” — 2 Timothy 4:4
