His vengeance no longer is contained / His light destroys the darkness
If He speaks the earth will crumble / If He moves the universe will fall
He is clothed in greatness / His voice resounds throughout the earth
— Becoming the Archetype, “End of the Age,” Dichotomy
The power and Majesty of our Lord is truly astonishing. He is the beginning and the end. He created the sun, the moon, the stars, the universe, and every single cell in our body. He is the Creator God of the Universe that not only wills our very existence, but even wills the existence of sin, death, hades, and even satan himself. If He so much as stops thinking about them, stops choosing to allow them their existence, it would be like they never existed. He is so wonderous and glorious. He is completely just, completely merciful, completely loving, and completely jealous. He is the complete and perfect embodiment of these traits and more. So powerful and deserving of praise is He that creation itself cannot help but shout praises to Him and conform to His will. This is the God that we serve, and we are His sons, His heirs.
This means that He has bestowed upon us this same death-conquering power that hell itself cannot overcome. Ironic, then, that we so often think of ourselves as victims. So many Christians in today’s society have allowed satan to whisper into their ears and say: “You’re a victim. Those people used to beat you down every day. They treated you like subhuman because how you look. They wounded you deeply. So deeply that you’ll never be the same. You’re worthless. You should just give up.” Worse yet, we believe satan and allow the lies to grow. Often, we look at the people who hurt us or those like them and become embittered, sometimes even frightened, further strangling ourselves in satan’s web of lies.
It is imperative that we not fall prey to satan’s lies or allow ourselves to entertain sin in our life. Through the death of Christ, we have been accepted into the fold of God, and been adopted into His lineage. All that He asks us to do is to love Him. Those that love Him, will obey Him, will dedicate their lives to Him, and will stay faithful to the creed “Not my will but Yours” and bring the Kingdom of Heaven down to Earth. When we do this, turn our ears to Him and obey His every command, we will see the same death-conquering power in our own lives, and will overcome the very gates of Hell.
He humbled himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death —even death on a cross! As a result God highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow —in heaven and on earth and under the earth— and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. – Philippians 2:8-11
