It is so easy in our world to put our hope in something apart from Christ, or to assume that God will present Himself in a man-made institution. This is a counterfeit hope. As Christians, our hope is not in this world, but rather in the death conquering sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Who cares if our life is not as perfect as we would hope? It is all meaningless — chasing after wind — in comparison to the surpassing value of simply knowing God and being known by Him. The Creator God of the Universe sent His own Son down to die and redeem a sinner like me. So let us hold fast to this truth and not lose faith or be discouraged by the circumstances of our counterfeit hope. Rather, let us remember the objective truth of God’s love for us and use that as our motivation to love others and show them the love that God first showed us.

“We’re bowing to crowns made of gold, blind to the one made of thorns Still we’ve got to hold the line when there’s nothing to stop all the bleeding

Stop the bleeding!”
